The Haṭhayogapradīpikā even implies that the state of Yoga can only be achieved through Pranayama and states it as the most fundamental practice in Haṭhayoga. The power and potentials of these subtle breathing practices are often underestimated or misunderstood in contemporary times, partly due to the fact that Yoga is often appreciated merely for the physical benefits the practice of which brings.

A deep understanding of this tool can not only aid us to enhance in our own personal practice, but also be useful in applying its potential helping others in their own Yoga journey, be it for health, healing or spiritual development.
